Saturday, Lebanon began a three day lockdown that was announced earlier this week.

The lockdown aims to limit the spread of the coronavirus during Labor Day and Easter holidays. Places of worship will only be open at 30 percent capacity, and all non-essential sectors will be closed.

Despite a recent downward trend in cases, Lebanon’s hospitals and economy have suffered greatly from coronavirus repercussions.

Friday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced 1,001 new coronavirus cases and 29 deaths.
