Jordan records 35 deaths and 1,556 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 35 deaths and 1,556 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 711,373.

The death toll has risen to 8,836.

The cases are:

-695 in Amman

-280 in Irbid, including 91 in Ramtha

-177 in Zarqa

-94 in Balqa

-83 in Mafraq

-59 in Ajloun

-43 in Madaba

-33 in Aqaba

-29 in Jerash

-25 in Tafilah

-23 in Karak

-15 in Ma'an, including two in Petra

A total of 132 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 193 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 20,034 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 1,596 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 682,503.

There are 1,357 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 19,377 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,704,884.

Friday, 8.03 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 9.07 percent on Thursday.
