Palestine confirms 16 deaths and 1,051 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 16 deaths and 1,051 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Thursday.

The new deaths involved 10 in the West Bank and six in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 92.4 percent, while the active case rate is 6.4 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 14 in Tubas; 43 in Tulkarm; 55 in Jenin; 89 in Nablus; 10 in Qalqilya; 51 in Hebron; nine in Salfit; 41 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; two in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 10 in Bethlehem; four in Jericho and al-Aghwar; and 723 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 22 in Tubas; 29 in Tulkarm; 67 in Jenin; 125 in Nablus; 18 in Qalqilya; 71 in Hebron; 15 in Salfit; 69 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; six in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 13 in Bethlehem; five in Jericho and al-Aghwar; and 1,404 in Gaza Strip.

A total of 4,957 PCR tests have been conducted.

Currently, 147 people are in ICUs and 41 are on ventilators.

A total of 255,662 individuals received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 179,673 who received both doses.
