Wednesday, the head of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Nael Al-Kabariti sent an official letter to the government, calling for the reduction of curfew hours to start at 12 am instead of 7 pm.

During a press conference at the JCC, he said that reducing curfew hours by two hours would not be beneficial to the private sector. He stressed that the government should consider reducing it by five hours, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan.

Kabariti believes that the economic situation should be taken into account much like the health situation. He noted that a two-hour reduction will not contribute to increasing sales.

He called on Khasawneh's government to make decisions regarding mitigation measures in a 'different and sound way' without having 'heroism and populism' in mind. He added that the total lockdown on Friday should also be reconsidered.

Kabariti stressed that people's tolerance to certain decisions has a limit and that reactions that come as a result of tolerating these decisions could be bad.
