Saturday, artist Raya Al Mufleh went down in history for selling the first Non-Fungible Token (NFT) by a Jordanian artist for USD 7,500.

Mufleh is the second Arab artist to sell NFT art in the Arab World.

The digital artwork entitled 'Royal KSA' dropped Saturday on the fourth episode of the 'Kalam Mshafar', translating to 'Encrypted Conversations', which is an Arabic podcast covering the bleeding edge in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

The winning bidder now owns a piece of 'Arab history and Saudi heritage.'

NFTs have been making headlines as many creators join the hype to profit from it amid the rush to mint, sell, and trade these NFTs among art enthusiasts.

Blockchain Technology Expert Ahmad Sharkatly said NFTs are "a type of cryptocurrency...unique tokens used to represent title deeds to digital or real world assets, these deeds are built on, backed up and secured by blockchain technology."
