Sunday, a meeting is scheduled to be held at the House of Representatives including Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh and the Parliamentary Health Committee to discuss the mitigating measures that will be implemented for the remainder of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

The head of the Parliamentary Committee MP Khalil Attia said the aim of the meeting is to find out about the government’s plans and steps to mitigate the effects of the overnight curfew and Friday lockdown.

Attia stressed that it is the parliament and government’s joint responsibility to comply with royal directives, in which His Majesty King Abdullah II called for the need to reassess measures to ensure there is balance between protecting citizens’ wellbeing and enabling the local economy to begin recovering.

Attia noted that the committee has recommendations that it will present to the government based on the demands of citizens in different sectors. He stressed the need to reduce the overnight curfew hours and amend measures in order for different sectors to resume activities.
