Palestine confirms 13 deaths and 1,139 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 13 deaths and 1,139 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Saturday.

The new deaths involved six in the West Bank and seven in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 90.6 percent, while the active case rate is 8.3 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 13 in Qalqilya; eight in Tubas; 97 in Nablus; eight in Hebron; three in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 28 in Tulkarm; 73 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 25 in Jenin; three in Salfit; one in Jericho and al-Aghwar; eight in Bethlehem; and 872 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 49 in Tubas; 136 in Nablus; 69 in Hebron; 80 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 17 in Tulkarm; 36 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 104 in Jenin; 10 in Salfit; nine in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 20 in Bethlehem; and 1,015 in Gaza Strip.

A total of 4,375 PCR tests have been conducted.

Currently, 153 people are in ICUs and 43 are on ventilators.

A total of 169,960 individuals received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 43,533 who received both doses.
