Palestine recorded 23 deaths and 1,440 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Friday.

The new deaths involved 10 in the West Bank and 13 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 90.4 percent, while the active case rate is 8.5 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 151 in Nablus; 49 in Tulkarm; 25 in Tubas; 21 in Qalqilya; 78 in Jenin; nine in Salfit; 63 in Hebron; 30 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 17 in Bethlehem; two in the suburbs of Jerusalem; three in Jericho and al-Aghwar; and 992 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 254 in Nablus; 18 in Tulkarm; 25 in Tubas; 56 in Jenin; 15 in Salfit; 47 in Hebron; 85 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 67 in Bethlehem; 50 in the subrubs of Jerusalem; six in Jericho and al-Aghwar; and 1,923 in Gaza Strip.

A total of 5,641 PCR tests have been conducted.

Currently, 147 people are in ICUs and 40 are on ventilators.

A total of 169,856 individuals received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 43,382 who received both doses.
