The former Minister of Education and Professor of Virology, Azmi Mahafzah, confirmed his exclusion from the National Committee for Epidemics.

He said,"No one informed him of the reasons for his exclusion from the committee, but it seems that they do not want anyone to give an opinion that is not prejudiced," expressing his astonishment at the sudden decision.

He added, "The Minister of Health sent letters of thanks to all members who were excluded, except for me, which astonished me, even though the minister is one of my students."

It is noteworthy to add that Mahafzah is one of the most prominent virologists in the region, and the only specialist of the kind in the Kingdom.

Earlier Thursday, the Minister of Health, Feras Al-Hawari announced the reshuffling of the Epidemics Committee.
