Jordan records 45 deaths and 2,097 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 45 deaths and 2,097 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 697,487.

The death toll has risen to 8,474.

The cases are:

- 797 in Amman

- 457 in Irbid, including 93 in Ramtha

- 272 in Zarqa

-91 in Mafraq

- 79 in Balqa

- 66 in Madaba

- 65 in Karak

- 63 in Tafilah

- 63 in Jerash

- 56 in Ajloun

- 52 in Aqaba

- 36 in Ma'an, including seven in Petra

A total of 221 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 194 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 30,726 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 3,794 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 658,287.

There are 1,918 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 18,228 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,564,997.

Thursday, 11.5 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 13.03 percent on Wednesday.
