The Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Muhammad al-Khalaileh, announced Thursday that worshippers will be allowed to go to mosques on foot from 12:20pm to 1:20pm Friday.
In a press release Thursday, al-Khalaileh called on worshipers to adhere to public safety measures such as social distancing, bringing their own prayer rug, and wearing a mask.
This announcement comes based on Communication No. 31 of 2021 based on Defense Order No. 19 for the year 2020, which stipulates allowing citizens to go on foot for one hour to perform Friday prayers, in accordance with the medical protocol prescribed by the Ministry of Health, and the authorization of the Minister of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places.
