Wednesday, a security source said that the Central Amman Police Directorate received information about a coffee shop in Rabieh, Amman which was receiving customers and serving drinks, which violates the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan, and defense orders.

The source added that the people inside were seized and the shop was shut down, adding that the people will be referred to the judiciary.

During Ramadan, majority of restaurants must close to preserve the sanctity of the holy month, however in light of the curfew hours and coronavirus restrictions, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh announced April 11 that delivery services for restaurants, pastry shops and pharmacies will be provided until 3am.
