According to the latest data published Sunday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than half of Americans over the age of 18 have received at least one coronavirus vaccine dose.

The data showed that approximately 130 million people, which is around 50.4 percent of the over-18 population, have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of Sunday morning.

The CDC added that around 84 million adults were fully vaccinated as of Sunday.

Since the start of the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign, the US authorities have licensed three vaccines: Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer/BioNTech, and Moderna.

However, on April 13, US regulators recommended halting use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine due to blood clotting concerns.

“Right now, these adverse events appear to be extremely rare,” the FDA said in a joint statement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The US has confirmed 32,406,753 coronavirus cases and 581,068 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
