Monday, the number of individuals who received COVID-19 jabs has exceeded 4,000 in one week, while the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) continues its plan to vaccinate all workers in the tourism, commercial and economic sectors.

The campaign, which was initiated by ASEZA in coordination with the National Center For Security and Crisis Management and the relevant ministries, is implemented through 14 vaccination centers distributed in all regions of the governorate, with the aim of making the city of Aqaba free of COVID-19.

The commissioner for Economic Affairs at ASEZA, Sharhabeel Madi, said that great efforts are being made by the health and commercial sectors in Aqaba in order to vaccinate the largest possible number of workers in the investment, tourism, commercial and port sectors.

In this regard, the authority aims to assist in reopening the sectors before the summer to reach a COVID-19-free golden triangle for tourists to enjoy. The 'golden triangle' is used to describe Jordan's three main tourist attractions, including Wadi Rum, Petra and Aqaba.
