The funeral of Prince Philip began Saturday with the transfer of his coffin from Windsor Castle to St. George's Church, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II and family members.

The four children of the late Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward walked behind the coffin,  accompanied by his grandsons William and Harry.

Britain declared a minute of silence in honor of Prince Philip, who died last week at the age of 99.

The funeral is the first time that Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, who was married to Prince Philip for 73 years, has left Windsor Castle since the pandemic began.

Under coronavirus rules in England, only 30 members of the royal family and close friends were allowed to attend the funeral.
