Jordan records 61 deaths and 1,596 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 61 deaths and 1,596 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 683,466.

The death toll has risen to 8,178.

The cases are:

- 510 in Irbid, including 125 in Ramtha

- 506 in Amman

- 122 in Mafraq

- 102 in Zarqa

- 70 in Balqa

- 62 in Tafilah

- 62 in Karak

- 49 in Aqaba

- 47 in Ajloun

- 41 in Madaba

- 24 in Ma'an, including one in Petra

- One in Jerash

A total of 222 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 140 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 43,344 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 6,032 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 631,944.

There are 2,274 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 11,385 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,459,718.

Saturday, 14.02 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 12.41 percent on Friday.
