A number of citizens in Anjara in Ajloun gathered to perform Friday Prayer in the street during the total lockdown on Friday, despite governmental instructions banning large gatherings and Friday Prayer in light of the coronavirus crisis.

Videos and pictures from Anjara circulated across social media platforms, showing citizens performing the prayer Friday morning.

Notably, this is not the first time that citizens violated Friday lockdown measures to perform Friday Prayer.

The Minister of State for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin had previously said the government is considering allowing citizens to perform Friday Prayer in mosques on the last two Fridays of Ramadan. The decision will be based on the COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom.
