UPDATE: The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that a video was circulated on social media in which an individual was driving a public transport bus while holding a sharp tool (hatchet) and threatening a person who was walking on a main road.

The spokesperson added that the PSD was able to determine the identity of the driver who was carrying the sharp object and his whereabouts.

He was arrested, and investigations began with him in preparation for his referral to the judiciary.

In turn, the Land Transport Regulatory Commission's Director General, Abeer Al-Majali, confirmed that the bus driver who appeared in a video on social media carrying a hatchet is an isolated case and does not reflect the general behavior of drivers.

In press statements, the commision noted that there is continuous coordination with the PSD to control behaviors within public transport and on roads in general.
