Thursday, the Lebanese judge in charge of the Beirut Port blast case, Tariq Bitar, released six detainees suspected to be involved with the blast, including four officers and civilians.

Nineteen were kept under arrest, including the Director General of the Ministry of Transport, Abdel Hafiz Al-Qaisi, and the Director of Customs Badri Daher.

Former judge Fadi Sawan was removed from the case in February.

On Aug. 4, huge quantites of ammonium nitrate exploded at the Beirut Port, killing over 200 and injuring over 6,500 more. Several prominent officals knew that the ammonium nitrate was being stored at the Port, but did not do anything about it.
