Jordan records 70 deaths and 2,963 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 70 deaths and 2,963 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 679,138.

The death toll has risen to 8,057.

The cases are: 

-1,047 in Amman

-486 in Irbid, including 63 in Ramtha

-376 in Zarqa

-230 in Mafraq

-179 in Balqa

-141 in Karak

-112 in Tafilah

-101 in Jerash

-89 in Ajloun

-88 in Madaba

-60 Ma'an, including 10 in Petra

-54 in Aqaba

A total of 292 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 276 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 49,211 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 4,774 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 621,870.

There are 2,377 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 21,761 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,426,320.

Thursday, 13.62 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 12.65 percent on Wednesday.
