The Minister of Agriculture, haled Al-Hunaifat, approved Tuesday the recommendation of the Slaughterhouse Committee to approve two Sudanese slaughterhouses, Al-Shaheen and the Ghinawa, and to allow imports from them.

Additionally, another slaughterhouse was approved beforehand by the Agriculture Ministry in Sudan, the Kadro slaughterhouse.

According to a statement by the ministry, the approval of the new slaughterhouses came to prevent monopoly operations in the Kingdom that may occur, and to increase competition, which will positively affect Sudanese meat prices in the Jordanian market.

The statement added that the approval of the slaughterhouses came after they had completed obtaining and filling in all the documents required of them, and after detailed evaluations made by the committee in charge of studying and evaluating the veterinary situation in Sudan at the end of March.
