Friday, His Majesty King Abdullah II extended his condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II over the passing of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

His Majesty expressed, in his name and on behalf of the people and government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the most sincere sentiments of condolences and sympathy to Queen Elizabeth, the royal family and the friendly British people for this casualty, through a cable.

His Majesty recalled the late Prince Philip's journey in the service of the United Kingdom.

Earlier Friday, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Philip died at the age of 99.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” the Palace announced.
