Sunday, the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) has allowed taxis, including those designated for long-distance travel, to provide delivery services during curfew hours.
The director of LTRC Salah al-Lozi said that this step came following recommendations from the commission to reduce the economic burdens on taxi owners and limit the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic on the sector.
He called on vehicle owners and drivers who wish to take part in providing delivery services to apply by going to LTRC's offices or online through their official website. Applicants must submit all supporting documents including an ID card, driver's license and vehicle license.
The commission will start accepting applications Monday.
