Palestinian leadership affirmed Saturday that it stands with King Abdullah II in protecting the security and stability of Jordan. 

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said, "We stand by the King, the government and the people of Jordan," noting that the security and stability of Jordan is a "supreme Palestinian interest."

On Twitter, the Palestinian Head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs, Hussein Al-Sheikh wrote, "President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership stand by brotherly Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Jordanian leadership in protecting the security and stability of Jordan."

Abbas expressed his appreciation towards the positions Jordan takes in support of the Palestinian people and their rights.
