Friday, a member of the National Center for Epidemics Rima Hajjo spoke about a case of 'combined coronavirus' that was confirmed in California back in February, noting that this mutation has not been reported in Jordan yet.

According to the New York Post, the COVID-19 strain discovered in California combined with the extremely contagious British strain creating another variant.

Hajjo said this recombination means that a person is infected with more than one strain at the same time, which 'may be more dangerous'.

She pointed out that this type of virus may slow COVID-19 down and end it, or make it 'more ferocious.'

She noted that current studies are trying to find out the source of this recombination, how to fight it and how dangerous it is.
