The former head of the Jordanian Doctors Syndicate Ahmad Al-Armouti told Roya’s Donya Ya Donya Wednesday that in order to reopen schools and different sectors, the government should set a new plan which includes vaccinating employees in both private and public sectors.
“The [COVID-19] vaccine is like the driver’s safety belt. It is true that the seat belt does not prevent a car accident, but it protects against its damage.”
He added that people may need to get vaccinated against COVID-19 annually. However, he stressed that the challenge now is to vaccinate the largest possible number of citizens and residents.
He lastly called on the Ministry of Health and the relevant authorities to intensify COVID-19 awareness campaigns, to persuade people to receive the vaccine.
Jan. 13, Jordan began its national coronavirus vaccination campaign.
