The Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, said that Jordan has begun to see a stable and clear decrease in coronavirus cases, adding that this decrease calls for patience and commitment.

In a radio interview, Al-Hawari said that government measures and decisions have paid off, and that he hopes Jordanians will be able to enjoy a safe summer.

The Minister of Health emphasized that reaching a safe summer is conditional on adhering to preventive measures and registering for vaccines.

He also said that the PCR positivity rate should be under five percent.

Al-Hawari indicated that there are efforts being made to obtain additional vaccines.

He pointed out that occupancy rates in hospitals are still high, but he expressed his hope for a decrease in those rates.
