Four people, including a child, were killed Wednesday evening when a man opened fire in an office building in the city of Orange, south of Los Angeles, police said.

The shooter, whose motives were not yet clear, was contained by police and taken to the hospital. 

A fifth person was injured and also hospitalized.

The police did not give any other details about the victims of this accident.

The shooting was reported at around 17:30 local time on the top floor of an office building.

The shooting came after two similar incidents occurred recently, which resulted in casualties and renewed discussion about firearms in the country.

In March, a shooter killed ten people in a store in Boulder, Colorado, less than a week after another man killed eight people in Asian massage parlors in Atlanta, Georgia.
