Pfizer and BioNTech announced Wednesday that their coronavirus vaccine is 100 percent effective in young people between the ages of 12 and 15.
The companies announced their intention to begin vaccinating this age group before the next school year.
The two labs said in a statement that the third phase trials, which included 2,260 people, "Showed 100 percent efficacy and strong antibody responses."
Pfizer and BioNTech made it clear that they had requested the competent authorities to license the vaccine for young people.
