Former Minister of Health Nathir Obeidat went back to work at the Jordan University's (JU) Faculty of Medicine and Jordan University Hospital (JUH) weeks after his submitted his resignation following the Al-Hussein New Salt Hospital incident.

Professor Nathir Obeidat, born in 1959, is a Jordanian doctor who was assigned as the Minister of Health on Oct. 12, 2020 as part of Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh's government.

He was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at JU in 2016.

In 1985, Obaidat got his Bachelor's degree in Medicine from the Medical University of Plovdiv in Bulgaria then a Master's degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Jordan in 1994.

He also obtained a Fellowship in Respiratory Medicine from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2000, as well was the Jordanian board in respiratory medicine in 2002.
