Jordanian courts issue prison sentences for those who hosted illegal weddings

Monday, the Irbid Court of First Instance issued a ruling convicting a person who organized a wedding which is a violation of defense laws.

The court sentenced him to six months in prison and a JOD 1,000 fine.

The court also convicted another person who took part in organizing the wedding ceremony and sentenced him to four months in prison and a JOD 667 fine.

Sunday, the Court of First Instance in Ajloun sentenced a person to six months in prison and a JOD 1,000 fine for non-compliance with defense orders by holding a wedding. It also sentenced another person to three months in prison for participating in planning the wedding.
