Sunday, the General Director of the King Abdullah University Hospital, Mohammad Al-Ghazza, said that the occupancy rate of the Intensive Care Department (ICU) beds for those infected with coronavirus in the hospital has reached 95 percent.

He added to that the department is only able to receive five more patients.

The number of patients who are currently receiving treatment in the ICU department is 48, while the total number of beds in the ICU is 53.

He said that the number of COVID-19 patients that are being treated in the hospital in the isolation department is 80, with an occupancy rate of 45 percent, indicating that the number of beds available in the isolation department is 98 beds.

Ghazza indicated that the occupancy rate "is a matter of concern" due to the high number of COVID-19 infections in the Kingdom, calling on citizens to follow precautionary measures more than ever before, and for community members to abide by all preventive measures.
