The Jordanian Strategies Forum Sunday said the demographics in Jordan make it easy to contain the coronavirus pandemic, taking into consideration the highest risk groups that suffer from health issues.

According to the forum, the population pyramid in Jordan revealed that the age group of 0-29 years constitutes 61.4 percent of the population and those aged 60 years and over constitute 5.9 percent of the population, which means "the number of people who must receive the vaccine quickly is considered limited and within the available medical capabilities."

The forum stressed the importance of securing vaccines and continuing to spread awareness among citizens, especially among the target age groups. They suggested that should then move on to workers whose nature of work obligates them to deal with large numbers of people such as doctors, nurses and health service providers. The forum would help the economic cycle to continue and enable the country to recover and move on from the coronavirus crisis.
