Saturday, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan tested positive for COVID-19, according to the country’s Health Minister.

Khan is “self isolating at home,” said Minister Faisal Sultan in a tweet.

Khan received his first dose of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine "Sinopharm" Thursday.

The country began its national coronavirus vaccination campaign in early February after receiving the Chinese government-donated Sinopharm vaccines, with the frontline healthcare workers given the priority for inoculation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Pakistan confirmed 623,135 coronavirus cases and 13,799 deaths.
