Chancellor Angela Merkel said Friday she would take AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 shot.
"Yes I would take the AstraZeneca vaccine. I would like to wait until it's my turn but I would in any case," Merkel told a news conference.
Friday, several countries including Germany, France, and Canada announced the resumption of vaccinations using the AstraZeneca vaccine, following a recommendation by European regulators that the benefits of the jab outweigh the risks.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced Thursday that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine is 'safe and effective' and 'not associated' with a higher risk of blood clotting.
