Thursday, the Cabinet of Ministers published a summary issued by the Ministry of Health, and the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, of the developments of the national vaccination program against the corona virus, including the numbers and types of contracted vaccines, and the expected timelines for the arrival of contracted doses throughout the year.

The media summary indicated that the total number of vaccines contracted by the government amounted to 10,200,000, which is sufficient to vaccinate a total of 5,100,00 people. The total amount will arrive consecutively until the end of the year.

The summary explained that the government contracted directly to provide 2,200,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, two million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, two million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, two million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, and two million doses of vaccines through the COVAX coalition.

The government reaffirmed through the summary that all these vaccines have been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA).

On the expected timelines for the arrival of the contracted doses throughout the year, the summary indicated that 440,000 doses which were set to have arrived by the end of March, have fully arrived in the Kingdom, while it is expected that 3.36 million doses will arrive during the second quarter of this year, specifically by June.

In addition, 3.2 million doses are expected to complete their arrival by the end of September, and 3.2 million doses are expected to have arrived by the end of December.

In regards to the national vaccination program, the summary explained that the number of those who received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine has reached 61,100 people until Thursday, while the number of those who received the first dose reached 189,921 people.

The number of individuals who have registered on the Ministry of Health's vaccination platform has reached 598,994.
