The Forest of Memories project, supported by the National Trust, invites Britons to pay tribute to their loved ones who died from COVID-19 by planting a tree for each across the United Kingdom, through registrations on an online platform.

To launch the project, organisers have set up a memorial near Windsor, where they tie hundreds of yellow ribbons corresponding to the registered victims and some mourners also come in person to hang their own ribbon.

Organizers hope to have seven forests created across the country by Spring 2022.
