Late Wednesday local sources announced that the Syrian air defenses intercepted Tuesday, several missiles belonging to the Israeli Occupation forces (IOF) over the skies of Damascus.

The air defenses confronted the missiles of the Israeli Occupation aggression and intercepted most of them. No loss of life was reported, only material damage.

“At 22:35 (2035 GMT) this evening the Israeli [Occupation] enemy carried out an aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights on some targets in the Damascus area,” said Syrian state news agency SANA citing a military source.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the air strikes of the Israeli Occupation targeted two weapons depots of Iranian militias inside military sites of the regime forces a few kilometers from Damascus International Airport."

Since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, the Israeli Occupation has routinely carried out raids in Syria, mostly targeting Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah forces as well as Syrian government troops.

The Israeli Occupation rarely confirms strikes in Syria, but the IOF claims to havr hit about 50 targets in the war-torn country last year, without providing details.
