Monday, the Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh said vaccination and compliance are the way to start going back to normalcy by summer.

He stressed that protecting citizens' lives, and preserving their health and safety are top priorities. He stressed the need for law enforcement to ensure compliance with defense orders, in order to improve the COVID-19 situation in Jordan.

The government announced that all hospitals are overwhelmed due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases, with some hospitals operating at nearly 100 percent capacity.

Regarding the national vaccination program, they discussed the measures taken to accelerate the local vaccination campaign and to ensure access to the largest possible number of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines and providing it to largest possible number of citizens.

Khasawneh reiterated the importance of compliance with defense orders and health measures, saying it is the way to gradually start reopening sectors and returning to normal life.

These statements were made during a meeting at the Prime Ministry which was attended by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Yousef Ahmad al-Huneiti, Director of the General Intelligence Department (GID) Ahmad Hosni, Minister of State for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin, Minister of Interior Mazen al-Faraya and the head of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Hussein al-Hawatmeh.
