Palestine confirms 15 deaths and 2,142 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 15 deaths and 2,142 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Sunday.

The new deaths involved 12 in the West Bank, one in Gaza Strip and two in Jerusalem.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 89.3 percent, while the active case rate is 9.6 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 426 in Hebron; 366 in Nablus; 72 in Qalqilya; 183 in Tulkarm; 145 in Bethlehem; 131 in Jenin; 69 in Salfit; 285 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 40 in Tubas; 56 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 25 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 70 in Gaza Strip; and 274 in Jerusalem.

The recovery cases included 403 in Hebron; 162 in Nablus; 124 in Qalqilya; 65 in Tulkarm; 181 in Bethlehem; 54 in Jenin; 88 in Salfit; 428 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 46 in Tubas; 92 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 48 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 100 in Gaza Strip; and 378 in Jerusalem.

Currently, 177 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 49 are on ventilators.
