Wednesday, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) issued an emergency use authorization for the Russian 'Sputnik V' vaccine against COVID-19, according to the administration's Director-General Nizar Muhaidat.

The Sputnik V vaccine has become the fifth vaccine that the Kingdom has issued an emergency use authorization for as part of the government's efforts to combat the coronavirus.

Muhaidat said that "the emergency use of the Russian vaccine was authorized [Wednesday], after a long period of studying the technical files submitted by the Russian company."
