Wednesday, a security source announced that a 41-year-old man killed his 56-year-old mother inside his house located in the northern Marka region of the capital, Amman.

They indicated that the deceased was stabbed using a knife in a brutal manner.

Sources close to the investigation told Roya that the mother had come from Ajloun to visit her brother and son in Amman.

The source added, "The victim spent the night in the house of her murderer to serve him, and when she woke up at four in the morning to perform ablution, a sharp disagreement occurred between them, prompting the killer son to take the kitchen knife, and then he stabbed his mother, who tried to defend herself, but she died." 

The Marka authorities arrested the murderer, who upon completion of his statement, will be referred to public prosecution where an investigation will take place. Additionally, they transfered the body to the forensic medicine office.

A committee of forensic doctors at the National Center for Forensic Medicine stated that the victim's body had multiple stab wounds on the neck and face, as well as many defensive wounds. Most of the wounds were concentrated in the neck area.
