The former Minister of State for Media Affairs, Ambassador and Senator Nabil al-Sharif died Saturday due to COVID-19.

Sharif graduated from Kuwait University BA in English Language, then got a MA and PhD in English Language from Indiana University.

• Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radio and Television Corporation and the Jordan News Agency "Petra" (2009)

• Member of Jordan's 24th Senate

• Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Media Institute (2007-2009)

• Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan News Agency "Petra" (2007)

• Accredited and non-resident Jordanian Ambassador in Senegal (2006)

• Senior Editor-in-Chief of the Jordanian newspaper "Addustour" (2006-2008)

• Accredited and non-resident Jordanian Ambassador in Mauritania (2005-2006)

• Accredited and non-resident Jordanian Ambassador in Morocco (2004-2006)

• Minister of Information (2003)

• Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radio and Television Corporation (2003)

• Government Spokesman (2003)

• Senior Editor-in-Chief of the Jordanian newspaper "Addustour" (1993-2003)

• Faculty member at the English Language Department at Yarmouk University and University of Jordan (1982-1993)

• Member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED)
