The University of Jordan (JU) suspended operations in the faculties of nursing and educational sciences, as well as the nursery due to coronavirus. Teams were formed to ensure compliance with health and safety measures on campus, including wearing face masks, social distancing and other precautionary measures.

The university released a statement Saturday saying the number of cases recorded inside the university is 'still very limited' and the source of infection is unknown. However, most cases seem to have contracted the virus by coming into contact with positive cases outside the university.

JU stressed that the implementation of health and safety measures aims to protect students and faculty members. The statement called on JU members to comply with defense orders and instructions announced by the Higher Education Council, which include only allowing students who have lectures to enter the campus.

The university expressed its willingness to open a minimum of three vaccination centers, in addition to the university hospital center.
