Friday, a public sanitation worker was run over by a vehicle in Jerash resulting in severe leg injuries including multiple fractures in his thigh bone, according to the Greater Jerash municipality. The man was transported to the Jerash Governmental Hospital for treatment.

The director of the media office at the municipality Hisham al-Banna said the mayor of Greater Jerash Ali Qawqazah instructed the relevant authorities to transfer the patient to a specialized hospital to do everything possible not to amputate his leg.

Banna added that a specialized medical team performed a six-hour surgical operation but, due to the severe damage, the team might have to amputate the leg.
