Thursday, The Policy, Coordination and Planning Committee of the Ministry of Education discussed the 'Education Emergency Plan (2020-2030)', which was developed within the ministry's plan to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

The meeting, was chaired remotely by the Minister of Education, Tayseer Al-Nuaimi, and attended by the Secretary-General of the ministry Nawaf Al-Ajarmah and Najwa Qubeilat, as well as other education partners and supporters.

The plan, which included three phases, response, recovery, and sustainability, aims to provide a sustainable, interactive and responsive remote learning environment for the needs of all students; to utilize the best technology to ensure the enhancement of the quality of teaching and learning, and to provide support for students and teachers to adapt and adopt modern educational technology.

Additionally, the plan included updating programs for remote and blended education to cater to all, in addition to spreading community awareness about the importance of sustainable distance learning.

During the meeting, Nuaimi stated that the ministry believes that the natural place for students is in schools, but the pandemic that affected the world has imposed a shift to remote education, indicating that it is the choice of necessity.
