During an online meeting Thursday at the Interior Ministry, the Minister of Local Administration and the acting Minister of Interior, Tawfiq Krishan, stressed the necessity of full commitment to the implementation of defense orders, especially the commitment to a lockdown and restrictions, stressing that legal measures will be taken against violators.

Krishan said that he is relying on the governors, as the heads of public administrations in their areas of competence, to continue to make the necessary efforts to follow up those in home quarantine due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Jordan.

He said that it is necessary to ensure that individuals in isolation are abiding by the health protocols to protect the public and to keep health and safety intact.

He added that field trips and inspections of those in home quarantine people are continuing, in implementation of the royal directives that always affirm that the safety of the citizen is a priority.

Additionally, Krishan stressed the continuation of prohibiting parties and social events with over 20 people in line with the approved medical protocol, and to ensure adherance to precautionary measures in gatherings of less than 20.

He requested all security councils to summon those in charge of hosting parties or social events to be charged with the most stringent legal measures.

For their part, the governors emphasized that tours of facilities and people are continuing to ensure that they adhere to defense orders and public health measures.
