Jordan records 37 deaths and 5,335 new coronavirus cases

Jordan has recorded 37 deaths and 5,335 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 407,617.

The death toll has risen to 4,793.

The cases are: 

-2,952 in Amman

-725 in Balqa

-479 in Irbid, including six in Ramtha

-400 in Zarqa

-217 in Madaba

-143 in Aqaba

-106 in Jerash

-89 in Karak

-87 in Ajloun

-50 in Mafraq

-47 in Ma'an

-40 in Tafilah

A total of 295 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 193 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 47,043 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 1,638 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 355,781.

There are 1,736 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 39,587 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 4,718,354.

Wednesday, 13.51 percent of PCR tests came back positive.
