Palestine confirms 15 deaths and 2,017 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 15 deaths and 2,017 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Wednesday.

The new deaths involved 13 in the West Bank and two in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 89.7 percent, while the active case rate is 9.2 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 77 in Qalqilya; 345 in Hebron; 270 in Nablus; 208 in Bethlehem; 463 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 121 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 35 in Tubas; 87 in Saflit; 39 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 106 in Tulkarm; 70 in Jenin; and 196 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 28 in Qalqilya; 291 in Hebron; 106 in Nablus; 34 in Bethlehem; 323 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; zero in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 20 in Tubas; 38 in Salfit; 27 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 78 in Tulkarm; 58 in Jenin; and 149 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 119 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 26 are on ventilators.

A total of 9,437 PCR tests were conducted.
