Reporters Without Borders announced Tuesday that it has filed a lawsuit in Germany alleging that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has committed crimes against humanity, and denouncing his "responsibility" for the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the imprisonment of about thirty other journalists.

The organization said in a statement that the complaint filed on Monday to the "Attorney General of the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, which has jurisdiction over "basic international crimes," relates to "the systematic persecution of journalists in Saudi Arabia" and is targeting, along with the Crown Prince, four other high-ranking Saudis.
